Usernames are setup using Firstname.Lastname. This username can be used on any RESPEC computer systems that you’re authorized to log into.
If you have a preferred name that is different from your legal name than you may request to have that added to your account so that your primary e-mail address will be your preferred name, and your display name in teams and other places will contain your legal name and preferred name.
Examples:
Jonathan.Johnson could be your user name. But you go by "Jon". You can request that IT setup your e-mail so the primary reply address is [email protected]. Your display name in Teams and other areas will be "Jonathan (Jon) Johnson"
The username will always remain your full legal name "Jonathan.Johnson"
*NOTE: One caveat is handing names that are longer than 20 characters overall. This has a different but rarely needed standard.
